Two Highlighted Past Surveys

1. Lake Washington School District (WA) Data, Research and Accountability Department: Panorama Survey

Background: LWSD partners with Panorama Education, to survey students and families twice a year: fall and spring. Panorama develops survey tools that empower schools and districts to learn about students’ self-perceptions, better understand student experiences in their learning environment, and identify opportunities to enhance social and emotional learning support of students, school staff and families. Due to the high volume of responses and the limitations of traditional survey analysis tools in processing free-text responses, Dr. Tim Krieger, Director of Data, Research, and Accountability, engaged our team to extract actionable insights from open-ended responses at scale.

Survey Question: What can teachers or other adults at school do to better support you?

Key Insights:

  • Rising Neutrality or Satisfaction: 20.9% of responses in Fall 2023 fell into the “Nothing” category, continuing an upward trend that may reflect student satisfaction or reluctance to share feedback.

  • Call for Empathy: 14.7% of students expressed a desire for more kindness and emotional understanding from teachers.

  • Academic Pressure: Concerns about curriculum workload grew over time, with 9.8% mentioning it in Fall 2023, showing a consistent upward trend.

  • Declining Community Focus: There was a notable drop in responses calling for school spirit and community building from Spring 2022 to Fall 2023.

2. Redmond High School (WA) College & Career Center: Class of 2025 Senior Exit Survey

Background: At the conclusion of the Spring 2025 term, the College & Career Center at Redmond High School administered the Class of 2025 Senior Exit Survey to gather data on seniors’ post-graduation plans. Faced with the lack of tools capable of processing and analyzing open-ended responses at scale, Ms. Rose Wu, College and Career Guidance Specialist, engaged our team to leverage our AI-powered solution to extract actionable insights from the survey data.

Survey QuestionWhat additional support do you need before you graduate?

Major Recommendations For Counselors Learned From The Survey Responses:

  • Urgent need to maintain a master checklist of graduation tasks.

  • Schedule quick counselor check-ins with all seniors.

  • Offer transcript and scholarship submission workshops.

  • Watch for students who indicate confusion passively (“I think I’m good?”).

  • Continue mental health messaging and support for burnout or senioritis.
